Kathmandu

Kathmandu is not only the capital of the Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal (Nepal’s capital) , but also the headquarters of the Central Region (Madhyamanchal) among the five development regions consisting of the 14 administrative zones of Nepal located in the central part of the country. The city lies at an altitude of approximately 1,400 meters (4,600 feet) in the bowl-shaped valley in central Nepal surrounded by four main hills, namely: Shivapuri, Phulchowki, Nagarjun and Chandragiri.
