Champawat is a city and a panchayat nagar in the district Champawat in the state of Uttarakhand , India . It is the administrative headquarters of Champawat district.Champawat was formerly the capital of the rulers of the Chand dynasty. The Baleshwar Temple built by the rulers Chand in the 16th century is a wonderful stone monument with an excellent carving of works.
