Jodhpur

The city of grandeur, wealth and gigantic seven story fort of Mehrangarh. The beautiful and monument studded Jodhpur perched at the edge of the Thar desert has so much to offer to traveller. Founded by Rao Jodha of Mandore in 1459 the city got its name from the ruler.

The city has lots of attractive monuments the most prominent ones are Mehrangarh Fort, Umaid Bhawan Palace, Jaswant Thada, Rao Jodha Desert Rock Park, heritage walk around walled city is highly recommended.

Beyond city light travelers can explore Kalyana Lake & Garden, Sardar Samand lake & Palace, Bhim Bhirak cave, Ravan ka Mandir, Mandore, Luni fort, Rohetgarh, Mehitgarh, kheechan and Osian. The visit to the town is incomplete without Bishnoi village Safari, a tribe famous for protecting trees and wildlife specially black buck.
