Bagru is located 35 kilometers from Jaipur on the road leading to Ajmer and is well known for hand block printing on fabric known as Bagru prints. This technique employs a block of wood on which the carved design is first required, and then the carving block is used to transfer the motif in the desired color onto the fabric. This process is most effective for floral and ethnic motifs for printing on vegetable dyes in traditional Bagru prints.
