Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary,Wildlife, Thiruvananthapuram – Kerala

Located on the outskirts of the city of Thiruvananthapuram , the Peppara Wildlife Sanctuary stretches over an area of ​​53 square kilometers. In the Western Ghats and was built in 1938. The place is fascinating for its Damsite areas, thick forests, crystal clear water streams and rocky terrain ideal for adventure expeditions.
The sanctuary has a population rich mammal fauna and is becoming a great attraction for nature lovers and ornithologists. Asian elephant, sambar, leopard, lion monkey tail, can be seen here. Birdlife includes endemic species such as the Malabar Gray Hornbill, Whitebellied Treepie, Small Sunbird etc. Recently a joint effort has been made by Kerala Tourism with the State Forestry Department and Kerala Water Authority to beautify the Damsite and offer more Entertainment / leisure here.
