Varkala, Kerala – Kerala

Located at a distance of 51 km north of Thiruvananthapuram town in Thiruvananthapuram district and 37 km south of Kollam , Kerala to the south, Varkala is a quiet and quiet village. It has several tourist attractions such as a beautiful beach, a 2000-year-old Vishnu Temple and the Ashramam – Sivagiri Mutt a little away from the beach.
On the serene beach of Varkala is a quiet beach resort with large springs of mineral water. The Sivagiri Mutt, founded by the great Hindu reformer and philosopher Sree Narayana Guru (1856 – 1928) is also very close. The Guru’s Samadhi (the final resting place) here attracts thousands of devotees each year during the pilgrimage days Sivagiri – December 30 to 01 01. Sree Narayana Guru propagated the ideology: “a caste, religion and a single god” , In a society torn by the taboos of the caste system.
Varkala offers excellent accommodation facilities for tourists and is becoming a popular health center with many Ayurvedic massage centers.
