Jawahar Kala Kendra

Jawahar Kala Kendra (JKK) is a multi arts center located in Jaipur in India . It was built by Rajasthan government with the purpose of preserving Rajasthani arts and crafts. The center has been made in eight blocks housing museums, one amphi theater and the other closed auditorium, library, arts display rooms, cafeteria, small hostel and art-studio. It also houses two permanent art galleries and three other galleries. And host its own theater festival each year.

Theater:

Rangayan, Krishnayan, Open Theater, are few of the many theaters housed in JKK.

‘Kadva Sach’:

A play directed by the legendary theater Bharat Ratna Bhargava and performed on stage by Children. The artists included Kapil Gaur, Soumya Shukla and Ritvick Saini.

‘Shastra Dekho Shastra’:

During summer vacations JKK organizations hobby classes for young children in the age group of 8-18 years. The faculties include theater, music, dance, painting, etc. In the theater group Babita Madan directed by Shastra Dekho Shastra. The theater artists included Kapil Gaur, Soumya Shukla.

‘I Will Not Cry’:

JKK staged I will not cry an exceptional blend of theater and multimedia, highlighting the issue of child survival through satire, reality and music excerpts. The play brings alive the sad truth of millions of unnecessary deaths of children in the world particularly in India. The performance by Lushin Dubey evokes collective responsibility among the audience to be part of Save the Children campaign. The play is conceived, Scripted for stage and directed by Arvind Gaur. Well known theater personalities of Jaipur Hemant Acharaya, and Sandeep Madan provided vital support.
