Lakkidi is the gateway to Wayanad district of the state of Kerala , south India . It puts the second highest degree of rain in the World . Lakkidi is one of the highest places in Wayanad. It is located 700 m above sea level, at the top of step gath Thamarassery . Vythiri is the nearest town, only 5 km from Lakkidi. Tree Chain, Pookot lake, sightseeing point on the ghat road and the number of resorts are located 5 km from Lakkidi. It is about 58 km north of this Kozhikode district.
The peaks of the high mountains, the flow of chirps, lush vegetation and a bird’s eye view of the deep valley to the south, with its tortuous streets, are breathtaking. Three km from Lakkidi is Lake Pookot, the natural freshwater lake, very wide and deep, one of the water reservoirs in rare Wayanad. Surrounded on all sides by meadows and hills, it has become a favorite picnic spot.
